During his walk, Joe the pumpkin met a termite... or actually, squished a termite. The termite's name was George, and because George the termite was squished by Joe the pumpkin, George's family became very angry and attacked Joe fiercely. Joe lost the battle, and the termites drilled so many holes into his carcass that it eventually resembled a face. And that was how the Jack-o-lantern came about. However, as the story was told from termite to termite, they began to forget Joe the pumpkin's name and it eventually became Jack instead of Joe.

*rolls eyes* guess i really -am- on my own. Okay, this pumpkin's name was Joe, because his mother had called him that. Anyway, one day Joe got bored of the pumpkin patch he lived in and decided to go walkabout.

Okay, once upon a time there was a pumpkin. It was a very nice pumpkin, it always did what it was told, had very nice manners and never broke ther curfew.
Okay, seem i'm just talking to myself here. I'll just have to keep myself amused
